Create a New Instance

Create a New Instance

Organizations can create separate asset desk instances specific to various locations and branches to offer their services to end-users. This ensures that site-specific data such as users or assets are not shared with other sites.

You can access these instances in the ESP Portal.

Role Required: Organization Admin

To create a new asset desk instance,
  1. Go to ESM Directory > Service Desk Instances.
  2. Click New Instance.
  3. Enter a display name for the instance.
  4. Choose the instance you wish to create: ServiceDesk Plus Cloud, ServiceDesk Plus MSP Cloud, or AssetExplorer Cloud. These choices will be displayed if you are currently using and/or have permission to access ServiceDesk Plus Cloud and ServiceDesk Plus MSP Cloud.
  5. Provide a brief description of the asset desk instance.
  6. The default asset desk type for asset desk instances will be IT HelpDesk.
  7. Enter a URL name for the asset desk. The URL name can be appended to the application URL to access the asset desk directly.
  8. Select an owner for the asset desk who will have access to invite or remove users from the asset desk.
  9. Configure Access Permissions to define who can view the asset desk.
  10. Select a custom domain for the asset desk. The verified domains will be listed here. Learn how to set up custom URLs here.
  11. Finally, click Create.
