Organizations can create separate asset desk instances specific to various locations and branches to offer their services to end-users. This ensures that site-specific data such as users or assets are not shared with other sites.
You can access these instances in the ESP Portal.
Role Required: Organization Admin
To create a new asset desk instance,
- Go to ESM Directory > Service Desk Instances.
- Click New Instance.
- Enter a display name for the instance.
- Choose the instance you wish to create: ServiceDesk Plus Cloud, ServiceDesk Plus MSP Cloud, or AssetExplorer Cloud. These choices will be displayed if you are currently using and/or have permission to access ServiceDesk Plus Cloud and ServiceDesk Plus MSP Cloud.
- Provide a brief description of the asset desk instance.
- The default asset desk type for asset desk instances will be IT HelpDesk.
- Enter a URL name for the asset desk. The URL name can be appended to the application URL to access the asset desk directly.
- Select an owner for the asset desk who will have access to invite or remove users from the asset desk.
- Configure Access Permissions to define who can view the asset desk.
- Select a custom domain for the asset desk. The verified domains will be listed here. Learn how to set up custom URLs here.
- Finally, click Create.
