You can import users from the active directory to a centralized ESM directory and keep them periodically synced.
If your organization manages user data in the Active Directory, it might be challenging to manually replicate the data in AssetExplorer Cloud. To simplify this process, administrators can configure Active Directory details in the AssetExplorer Cloud and automatically sync the user details.
Role Required: Organization Admin
Imported users are displayed under ESM Directory > Users.
To import users from Active Directory:
- Ensure that you have verified at least one domain in the application.
- Download a provisioning app to import users from AD/LDAP.

Active Directory Authentication
Importing users via Active Directory also helps you set up SAML Authentication. Using SAML, users can be authenticated to log into AssetExplorer Cloud without supplying credentials.
AssetExplorer Cloud offers support for SAML 2.0, which facilitates integration with federated identity management solutions for user authentication. To set up SAML, install the Active Directory Federation Service (ADFS) and set up SAML authentication between AssetExplorer Cloud and ADFS.
