Introduction to Asset Audit

Asset audit is the process of verifying the existence, location, and condition of an organization's assets. It is a crucial aspect of asset management that helps ensure accurate and up-to-date asset records.
 
With AssetExplorer Cloud, you can periodically verify the physical presence of all IT assets within your organization, and generate comprehensive reports about of assets.

Types of Asset Audit 

In AssetExplorer Cloud, asset audits can be conducted in two ways:
  1. Technician-Conducted Audit: One or more technicians physically verify the assets using the mobile app. They can also scan the barcodes of assets for verification.
  2. User Self-Audit: This is a self-audit process that does not require physical verification by a technician. Users can verify the ownership of their assets through the user portal.

Roles Required 

SDAdmin and SDAssetAuditAdmin can create organization-wide audits (technician-conducted and user self-audit).
For technician-conducted audits, SDAdmin, SDAssetAuditAdmin, and SDAssetAuditor can physically audit assets from the ServiceDesk Plus Cloud mobile app.

For user self-audit, users with login access to the application can audit their assets from the My Assets widget in the user portal.
