IT Assets

 Add IT Assets     

Role Required: SDAdmin, SDSiteAdmin, SDAssetManager, and Technicians with Add Assets permissions.

 

Add IT assets manually

You can add IT assets manually using forms from the Assets module.

  • Click Quick Actions  on the header and click Asset from the Quick Actions menu.

  • Click on Assets module on the header. On the left navigation pane select IT Assets.

  • Select your preferred asset product type. Eg: workstation, server, printer, etc.

  • Click icon to open the New Asset page.

  • Specify the Asset Name in the given text field. This is a mandatory field.

  • Select the Product Name of the asset from the drop-down. If required, you can add a new product name by clicking icon beside the product name field. This is a mandatory field.

  • Specify the Asset Tag, Serial Number, Barcode / QR Code, Location, and Purchase Cost in $ in the corresponding text fields.

  • Specify the Acquisition Date, Expiry Date, and Warranty Expiry date from the calendar icon.

  • Specify the Asset State in the Asset is Currently drop-down. This is a mandatory field.

  • Add additional asset details specific to the asset model or product type, if any.

  • Click Save.

  

Barcode Generation
  You can also generate barcodes and add assets.

  1. On the asset list view, click Manage Barcode / QR code and add new assets..

  2. Alternatively, you can go to Barcode / QR code section on the left navigation pane and select Generate Code.

Import Assets
  To bulk-add IT assets, you can import asset details from CSV files.

  1. On a IT asset list view, click Import from CSV.

  2. Alternatively, you can go to Setup > Data Administration > Import Data.

 Edit IT Assets     


  Role Required: SDAdmin, SDSiteAdmin, SDAssetManager, and Technicians with Edit/Delete Assets permissions.

In the Assets tab, select the IT asset product type from the left navigation pane.

From Asset Details Page:

  • On the asset list view, select the IT asset to be edited.

  • The asset details page is displayed. Click Edit on the toolbar.

  • Edit the asset details and asset state as needed. You can also connect the asset with another asset, assign/reassign the asset, and configure depreciation.

  • Click Update.

 

From Asset List View:

  •   You can edit IT assets in bulk from the asset list view.

  • On the asset list view, select the IT assets.

  • On the toolbar, click Edit.

  • Edit asset details as needed.

  • Click Update.

 

 You can bulk edit up to 100 assets. 

 You can bulk edit only similar product types.  

 

 Delete IT Assets  

Role Required: SDAdmin, SDSiteAdmin, SDAssetManager, and Technicians with Delete Assets permissions.

  • On the asset list view, select the IT assets to delete.

  • On the toolbar, click Delete. You can also click icon next to the asset and select Delete.

  • Click Confirm.
