IT Assets

 Add IT Assets     

Role Required: SDAdmin, SDSiteAdmin, SDAssetManager, and Technicians with Add Assets permissions.

 

Add IT assets manually

You can add IT assets manually using forms from the Assets module.

  • Click Quick Actions  on the header and click Asset from the Quick Actions menu.

  • Click on Assets module on the header. On the left navigation pane select IT Assets.

  • Select your preferred asset product type. Eg: workstation, server, printer, etc.

  • Click icon to open the New Asset page.

  • Specify the Asset Name in the given text field. This is a mandatory field.

  • Select the Product Name of the asset from the drop-down. If required, you can add a new product name by clicking icon beside the product name field. This is a mandatory field.

  • Specify the Asset Tag, Serial Number, Barcode / QR Code, Location, and Purchase Cost in $ in the corresponding text fields.

  • Specify the Acquisition Date, Expiry Date, and Warranty Expiry date from the calendar icon.

  • Specify the Asset State in the Asset is Currently drop-down. This is a mandatory field.

  • Add additional asset details specific to the asset model or product type, if any.

  • Click Save.

  

Barcode Generation
  You can also generate barcodes and add assets.

  1. On the asset list view, click Manage Barcode / QR code and add new assets..

  2. Alternatively, you can go to Barcode / QR code section on the left navigation pane and select Generate Code.

Import Assets
  To bulk-add IT assets, you can import asset details from CSV files.

  1. On a IT asset list view, click Import from CSV.

  2. Alternatively, you can go to Setup > Data Administration > Import Data.

 Edit IT Assets     


  Role Required: SDAdmin, SDSiteAdmin, SDAssetManager, and Technicians with Edit/Delete Assets permissions.

In the Assets tab, select the IT asset product type from the left navigation pane.

From Asset Details Page:

  • On the asset list view, select the IT asset to be edited.

  • The asset details page is displayed. Click Edit on the toolbar.

  • Edit the asset details and asset state as needed. You can also connect the asset with another asset, assign/reassign the asset, and configure depreciation.

  • Click Update.

 

From Asset List View:

  •   The All Assets list view is a consolidated view that lists all assets and components. To access the all assets list view, go to Assets and click All Assets in the left pane.

     

     

    The asset accordion in the left pane is nested in parent-child hierarchy. Click Expand across All Assets to view the hierarchy.

     


You can perform the following operations on the all assets list view:


  1. Add new IT assets, non-IT assets, or components.
  1. Edit or delete assets and components. Click Settings icon beside the required asset/component and select the required operation.
  1. Bulk edit or delete assets and components. Select the required devices and click Edit or Delete on the toolbar.

Bulk Actions: Select the required devices and click Actions to perform any of the following options.
  1. Add assets or components to groups
  2. Configure depreciation
  3. Assign assets to users or site/department
  4. Modify the product type or state
  5. Reconcile assets
  6. Mark assets as loanable
  7. Reprint barcode/QR code

 


  1. Import Assets: Click Import from CSV to import assets and components.
  1. Manage Barcode/QR Code: Use this to scan barcode/QR code, generate new barcode/QR code, and associate barcode/QR code to assets.
  1. Assign Users: Select assets and click Assign Users to associate assets with users.
  1. Column Chooser: Click column chooser icon to customize the columns displayed on the list view.
  1. Search: Click search icon to search through columns.
  1. Table Settings: Customize the list view layout by limiting the number of records per page and sorting by a specific column.
