Barcode/QR code Label Properties

Define properties of barcode/QR code labels that must be printed. Use the easy drag-and-drop actions and customize clear and readable barcode/QR code labels.
  1. Add your company logos, barcode, and QR code for the labels to look more professional.
  2. Add multiple asset fields, consumable fields, and static text to enhance asset tracking.
  3. Organize fields and texts into sections to improve appearance, and add horizontal or vertical lines to separate the sections.
  4. Utilize the undo/redo functionality to accommodate design changes.
  5. Use style options, such as setting background colors, padding, and borders; configuring fonts, sizes, and colors for asset fields and texts; and applying styles to individual elements or the entire label, enhancing its readability.
  6. Preview the label before printing and make changes if needed.
 

Add New Label Property

  1. Click the icon on the Label Property field.
  2. The Add Label form contains three sections: header, left panel, and editor.
  3. On the label configuration page, fill out the details as shown below.
 
Header

  1. Provide the basic details of the label in the header.
  2. Name: Enter a name for the label property.
  3. Description: Provide a short description about the label property.
  4. Site: Select the required site.
Left Panel
The left panel contains the following components:
  1. Data: Displays supported asset and consumables fields. Drag the required fields to the canvas.
  2. Elements: Allows you to add sections, text messages, lines, images or logos, and barcode/QR code. Drop the required elements into the canvas and customize it as required. Learn more about Elements
  3. Style: Allows you to apply background color, padding, field alignment, border, shadow, width, height, depth, etc to all elements. Note that some options are specific to elements.
  4. Label: Provide the number of labels in a row and the gap between labels.
  1. Canvas
  1. An environment that allows you to design your label.
  2. Add elements and data from the left panel into the canvas.
  3. Customize the element or data by applying styles.
  4. Right-click on elements in the canvas and perform certain operations.
Designing Tips:
While designing labels, consider the following tips to ensure clarity.
  1. Add a border to the section.
  2. Align fields using the padding.
  3. Add background color or images to sections.
  4. Add unique colors to each field.
 
After defining the properties of barcodes/QR code labels, click Save.
 

 
  1. After saving the label property, you can select it from the Label Property drop-down.
  2. Click Continue to Print.
  3. The configuration page prompts you to enter the values for fields added to the label property.
  4. Enter the values and click Continue to Print. If the fields are left unfilled, '-' will be added across those fields in the label.
  5. The Preview and Print section shows the preview of the label.
  6. If the generated codes are highlighted in yellow during preview, they are unclear and cannot be scanned properly. You can remove unclear barcodes by selecting the Remove barcodes/QR codes which cannot be scanned properly check box.
 

To proceed, click Print or Test Print.
 

Elements

Section

A section is a block that allows you to add asset/component fields, images, and texts.
  1. Drag the section into the canvas and drag the borders to resize it.
  2. Right-click inside the section to add fields, make the component fixed or fluid, copy the style, and paste the style and lock or delete it.
  3. Right-click the added field to change the field, hide the label, indent the label to the top or left, make the component fixed or fluid, copy/paste style, or delete it.
  4. Click the    icon to clone the section.
 


Text

Add content within a text box and make it more engaging.
  1. Drag the text box into the canvas and apply styles available in the left pane.
  2. Right-click the text box to clone, make the component fixed or fluid, or delete it.
  3. Drag the borders to resize the text box.
 

Line

Insert a line to separate the elements and enhance the appearance of the label.
 
  1. Drag the line into the canvas.
  2. Use the Style component on the left panel to set the line to horizontal or vertical, adjust thickness, style, or color.
  3. Right-click to clone, make the line fixed or fluid, or delete the line.
 

 

Image

Allows you to add images or logos to the label.
  1. Drag the image element into the canvas.
  2. Click the image element and click Upload Image on the left panel.
  3. You can browse and upload images from your device or choose from the previously uploaded images saved in the My Images tab, or add an image using a URL.
 

After adding the image, you can resize it, align it with the existing elements, and adjust styles like border, shadow, radius, padding, etc.
Right-click on the image to modify its radius or delete it.
 

 

QR code/Barcode

Add a QR code while creating a barcode, and vice versa.
  1. Drag the QR code into the canvas.
  2. To apply styles to the QR code, go to the Design tab in the left panel.
  3. Navigate to the Properties tab and provide a custom text/URL in the Content field. You can view this content while scanning the code.


 
Fixed and Fluid Component: Sections, texts, and lines can be set either as a fixed or a fluid component.
Fixed Component: Restricts the size change of fields and texts while modifying the section's size.
Fluid Component: Allows fields and text to resize according to the section's size.
Group Fields: Allows you to categorize similar fields together. Note that you can group fields only when they are in the same row.
To group fields, select the required fields, right-click, and select Group. By default, a hyphen is added between fields. Right-click on the hyphen to modify the separator.
 


To remove grouping, right-click on the grouped fields and click Remove From Group.
